Pint Sized Ranch
Located in Camino, CA , Pint Sized Ranch is owned and operated by Ginny Carlson, DVM and her husband.
Why did you choose the Harlequin breed?
We love the variety of spots, personality and size
Tell Us About Your Flock
We try to have a herd of 5-6. Our matriarch is Betty who is 9.5 years old and this year we kept 2 ewe lambs to try and improve our lines
What's the most rewarding aspect of
raising Harlequins?
It is always fun to see all the spotting patterns they can have at lambing
Tell Us About Your Farm
We are run by just my husband and I.
The farm is 3.5 acres, 2.5 pastures, barn for shelter and lambing with 5 foot field fencing.
We started the farm in 2013.
What's the craziest thing that a new owner or
potential buyer has ever done/asked?
Nothing too crazy so far :0) (<--- WOW! That's lucky!!)
What have you learned about having livestock that surprised you?
How creative they can be getting to
things they want to eat!
(Who could resist faces like this??)
What’s one thing you'd want a new shepherd to know when they start out?
Buy what you want in the beginning so you are happy with how your lines develop :0)
